Miguel Monteiro (INESC-ID)

Deep Learning Applied to Medical Imaging

The seminar will be a brief overview of deep learning techniques for semantic segmentation of images. Then, it will show a use case of deep learning usage for semantic segmentation of ischemic stroke lesions using 3D MRI data.

Bio: Miguel Monteiro has bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) from the University of Lisbon. In 2016, he obtained a double master's degree in EECS from the University of Lisbon and the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm (KTH). He is currently a researcher at INESC-ID where he works in machine learning and deep learning applied to ischemic stroke.
